Frequently Asked Questions

When will IIM shortlists be released for CAT 2024?

IIM shortlists are typically released in January 2025, about 3 weeks after CAT results. Different IIMs release at different times. IIM-A, B, C usually release first, followed by newer IIMs.

What is the CAP (Common Admission Process)?

CAP is a centralized interview process for 8 newer IIMs. Instead of separate interviews, you attend one interview that counts for all participating CAP IIMs. IIM Bodh Gaya conducts CAP 2025.

How many mock interviews should I do before actual interviews?

Aim for 5-8 mock interviews minimum. Quality matters more than quantity — ensure you get genuine feedback and improve between sessions. Practice with strangers, not just friends/family.

Can I attend multiple IIM interviews if shortlisted?

Yes. Old IIMs (A, B, C, L, K, I) conduct their own interviews. You can attend all you're shortlisted for. CAP IIMs share a common interview — one interview counts for all CAP schools you're shortlisted by.

What if my CAT percentile is low but I have strong profile?

Profile strength (academics, work experience, diversity) can compensate for lower percentile. Newer IIMs particularly value work experience and academic diversity. Focus on schools where your profile fits their criteria.
